“Intent” by Monica McIntyre
“In the beginning of all things, wisdom and knowledge were with the animals, for Tirawa, the One Above, did not speak directly to man, He sent certain animals to tell men that he showed himself through the beasts and that from them the stars and the sun and the moon should man learn…”
- Eagle Chief [Letakoots-Lesa] (Late 19th century) Pawnee (Native Amer. Wisdom, by Running Press Pub., Phila., PA, p.30.)

If you own an unwanted pet release them to the SPCA or Animal Welfare. Don’t dump them with the hopes they’ll be rescued. While Endo was in the shelter I asked reliable sources and read books on pet care, before I decided to adopt him. Don’t ask Joe down the street. Joe might own a pet, but is he properly educated on pet care? Last, invest in a pet care book when you adopt or buy a pet. Remember, don’t rely on the internet. If the lights go out and your computer battery dies you cannot Twitter, E-mail, or surf the net., but you will be able to read a book by flashlight.
